meet YOUR THERAPIST

Hi, I'm Brandy

Welcome to A Little Healing LLC.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed in Virginia and South Carolina, and I started A Little Healing LLC because I kept sitting across from women who had spent years being everything to everyone — and had no idea what they wanted for themselves anymore.

I specialize in working with people-pleasing, boundary struggles, anxiety, and low self-esteem. Most of my clients are women who are good at their jobs, good to their friends, good to their families — and quietly running on empty because no one taught them it was allowed to be any different.

How I Think About This Work

I don't think the goal of therapy is to turn you into someone else. I think it's to get you back to a version of yourself that existed before you learned to shrink, smooth things over, and put your own needs last.

That's not a personality flaw. It's a pattern you built for a reason — probably a good one, at the time. In our work together, we figure out where it came from, what it's costing you now, and what you actually want to do instead.

How We'll Work Together

Sessions draw on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based strategies, and a person-centered approach — which just means the direction of our work comes from what's actually going on in your life, not a fixed curriculum. Some weeks that's identifying the thought that talks you out of setting a boundary. Other weeks it's practicing what to actually say. I'll always tell you why we're doing what we're doing.

HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

A Framework Built on Compassion, Trauma-Informed Care, and Cultural Responsiveness

Trauma-informed care means that sessions are paced with your nervous system in mind. There is no pressure to move faster than feels safe, and there is an understanding that many of the challenges you're facing today have roots in earlier experiences. You set the pace — every step of the way.

Culturally responsive therapy acknowledges that your identity, background, and lived experience are central to the healing process — not a footnote. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model, I actively work to understand your unique cultural context and how it shapes your inner world, your relationships, and your sense of self.

Sessions are collaborative, curious, and non-judgmental. You are never told who to be. Therapy becomes a space to unlearn old roles, reconnect with inner strength, and create new patterns that align with who they truly are — not just who they've had to be.
